The maximum value of dissolved oxygen in its vertical distribution in the Yellow Sea was studied.It is concluded that the oxygen maximum in the summer thermocline is mainly reserved from winter.Similar reservation occurs also in density and temperature in the cold water mass of the Yellow Sea.Above and below the depth of the oxygen maximum,the oxygen content is decreased by an increase of temperature and the decomposition of organic matter respectively.
