Abstract

Gelidium may provide the besst souree of agar-agar in the world.In China,G.amansii Lamx.has been the prineiple source of agar,thessfore it was used by Chinese people for a very long time;although in aneient time,apart from its being used as food,it did not form a part of any industry.
