A NATURAL MUTANT IN LAMINARIA JAPONICA

  • From a female gametophyte clone "LC1" which contained millions of haploid cells(Fang,et al,1978)a mutant was discovered in 1976.The mutant has been observed to be stable up to the present,The hisiory of the mutaW has been traced and analysed.It seems to be due to a natural,recessive mutation and qualitative in effect.As far as we know,it appears to be the first record of mutation in Lmninaria.
