THE TS-COMPARISON METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE BOUNDARY OF MODIFIED WATER-MASSES AND THE ANALYSIS OF MODIFIED WATER-MASSES IN THE WESTERU AREA OF THE EAST CHINA SEA
Su Yusong
1980, 2(1): 1-16.
Abstract:
The TS-Comparison method is an analytic one based upon TS-diagram for determining the boundary of modified water-masses,using this method to analyse the modified water-masses in the western area of the East China Sea, the following results can be obtained; There are two modified water-masses besides the four original ones in this area. The modified regression cures with localizable property may exist only in the cold season. The modified exchange region closely related to the existence of clockwise circulation can be identified. In addition the model is presented for inspecting the increasing and decreasing variability about each modified water-mass in the area. Finally the relationship between mixed band and position of central fishing grounds is illustrated.
A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SEA SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF NORTH PACIFIC AND GENERAL ATMOSPHERIC CIRCULATON
Au Naiyou, Zhang Jiacheng, Zhao Qin
1980, 2(1): 17-32.
Abstract:
In the article the monthly anomaly field of sea surface tempera ture of the North Pacific during 1949-1975 is resolved into natural orthogonal polynomials. An analysis of the relationship between several main eigenvectors of the polynomials, the weather conditions, and the centers of action in atmosphere indicates.
THE EFFECTS OF THE BOUNDARY REFLECTION ON THE AMBIENT NOISE FIELD IN SHALLOW WATER
Shang Frchang
1980, 2(1): 33-42.
Abstract:
According to the theoretical formula given by Talham-Фурдуев, the ambient noise in a shallow-water homogeneous layer was calculated by using the "three parameters model" of the boundary reflection loss. The spectrum property, vertical directionality and the dependence of the noise level on environmental parameters were analysed for 0.3-3.0 KHa frequency range.
PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROCESSES OF SILICATES IN THE ESTUARIAL REGION Ⅳ. An Analysis of the Mechanism of Removal of Reactive Silicate in the Estuaria Region.
Li Faxi
1980, 2(1): 43-56.
Abstract:
The controversy among recent investigators on the problem whether there is any extent of inorganic removal of reactive silicate in the estuarial regions has been reviewed and discussed on appropriate theoretical, experimental, and also in situ observational bases.

The structures and surface properties of hydrous titanium oxide prepared at different conditions are determined and their properties of extraction of uranium from sea water are compared The results are givnen as follows.
MICROPALEONTOLOGIC CHARACTERISTICS OF RELICT SEDIMENTS OF THE EAST CHINA SEA
wang pinxian, Min Qiubao, Bian Yunhua, zhang Jijun
1980, 2(1): 67-78.
Abstract:
Up to now,in literature, the paleontologic characteristics of relict sediments concern mainly macrofossils,Micropaleontolegic analysis of relict sediments in the East China Sea has revealed some distinctive features in their associated microfossils,1.unusual state of preservation, 2.low content of tests, and 3.environmental conditions reflected by the faunal assemblage is different from those of the modern environment, According to microfauna, five types of formation of relict sediments may be recognized:1.brackish-water nearshor area,2,shell beach,3.estuaries,4. littoral marsh, and 5.continental environments.
THE CHANGE OF COASTS AND BEACHES AND THE MOVEMENT OF LONGSHORE SEDIMENTS OF HAIZHOU BAY
Wang Baocna, Yu Zhiying, Liu Cangzi, Jin Qingxiang
1980, 2(1): 79-96.
Abstract:
The characteristics of changes of the coasts and beaches of the Haizheu Bay depend mainly on dynamics of near shore waters resulting longshore drift.Particularly duriing the years 1128-1855 the Yellow River, famous for its abundance of sediments, forced its way through the Huai River into the sea, causing complicate changes in coasts and beaches at the north part of the Jiangsu province and the HaiZhon Bay.Under the action of a great deal of sediments, the delta gradully moved outward with the Bay shallowed and the offshore islands and shoals directly eonnetted with land. The former wavy sea became fertile plain. This is entirely due to the transport of sediments downstream by The Yellow River. After 1855, the Yellow River changed its course northward at the lower reaches, as a result of which sediments supply reduced suddenly in this coastal area with corresponding strengthening of wave and tidal current forces, That led to the erosion and recession of snuthern coasts and beaches in the area.
DIATOMS FROM THE SURFACE SEDIMENTS OF THE EAST CHINA SEA
Jin Dexiag, Cheng Zhaodi, Lin Junmin, Lin Shicheng, Tian Cuntzeng
1980, 2(1): 97-110.
Abstract:
Surface sediments of 26 stations from the East China Sea are selected,One hudred and thirty five species and varieties of diatoms are obtafined.Coscinodiscus radiates, C.excentricus,Actinoptychus undulates,C. lineatus, C.argus, C.blendus, Podosira stelliger, and Hyalodiscus subtilis are the dominent species occurred in more than half of the stations studied. Stations 19 and 20 are in the trough of the East China Sea,The diatoms are listed in the table and some representative species are described in the text,Being affected by Kuroshio current from the Equatoral Zone of the Pacific, the diatom communities are related to each other.
ZOOGEOGRAPHICAL STUDIES ON POLYCHAETA FROM THE XISHA ISLANDS AND ITS ADJACENT WATERS
Wu Baoling, Sun Ruiping, Chen Mu
1980, 2(1): 111-130.
Abstract:
This Paper Presents the results of a study on the ecology and zoogeography of polychaeta from the Xisha Islands…a group of South China Sea coral islands 180 miles southeast from Hainan Island. The benthic Polychaetes found from the Xisha Islands and its adjacent waters total 150 species and 7 other are identified to genus. This figure may de subdivided as follows.
A PRLEIMINARY SURVEY ON THE FOULING ORGANISMS IN THE NINGBO HARBOUR, CHINA
Huang Zongguo, Li Chuangyan, Zhang Liangxing, Li Furong
1980, 2(1): 131-135.
Abstract:
During the period from March 1974 to Febrary.1975,a surrey of marine fouling organisms was conducted in Ningbo Harbour, Zhejiang Province, China. The results of investigation show that the fouling organisms are the species of fresh-water or draw near the mouth of estuary with brackish water which reflects the nature of estuarine harbour in the Ningbo Harbour. The number of sqecies of the fouling organisms identified 20,of which the Cordytophora lacustris, Limnopera fortunei and Corophium spare dominant species of the fouling community. The monthly biomass of animall fluctuates from 0-670.3g/M2, being highest in June-October, the algae from 0-45.0 g/M2.
