Abstract: Based on the theory of probability,an analytical-function of the joint distribution of gave periods and heights of the shallow sea is empirically esta using continuous wave records of the shallow sea and some experimental data obtained from wave channel. For the convenience of use relevant diagrams are constructed in this paper. The results are satisfactory and in reasonable agreement with sonue of the observed records and the data used by engineers.
